Our alliance with Oxfam International

Facing globalization and breathtaking increase of disparity between the North and South countries, international solidarity organizations must rise to the challenge.

This is why in 2003 Agir ici’s founders chose to move on to the next stage in becoming a partner of Oxfam International as observer member. Oxfam International is a confederation of 12 independent organizations that, alongside 3250 partners in more than 100 countries, decided to unite in order to fight together against poverty, inequalities and injustice in the entire world.

Today Agir Ici decided to take a new step forward and formalize our alliance by becoming Oxfam International’s French affiliate.

We therefore reinforce our active commitment to the humanitarian movement and widen our sphere of influence in terms of lobbying and mobilization as we strive towards our objective to live in more just world at a larger scale.

This evolution in the life of our association is an essential and positive step for the fight we have led since 1988. It relies on our lifelong values: active citizenship, solidarity, responsibility, (opening onto the world) as well as independence and partnership. These values are fundamental and will continue to determine our future.

Remaining faithful to our vocation, we invite every citizen to play an active role and fight for a fairer world where basic human rights are respected.
